Group D:
Eintracht Frankfurt 🇩🇪
Tottenham Hotspur 🏴
Sporting Lisbon 🇵🇹
Olympique De Marseille 🇫🇷

Whilst it’s certainly not the worst group possible, it’s certainly not going to be easy. Especially with the away trips. There is a reason why the former rule of away goals came to be, simply because the crowds get so up for it. It then becomes really tough for the away team to deal with the hostility and pressure. Hence why, on this road we need to make our beautiful stadium a fortress. Let’s not make it easy for the opposition when they come to town.
As for the business on the pitch, Marseille, Frankfurt and Sporting are all good sides. They are all capable of beating us if we aren’t fully at it, so we need all of our players to chip in amongst the busy schedule.

Unfortunately, our beloved manager, Antonio Conte does not have the best Champions League record. Only making it out of the group stage twice in five attempts. However, in Italy they tend to strongly prioritise the league, so I’m not sure how much we can read into that.
In an ideal world, you would hope we would reach the quarter finals. However, there are so many factors which count towards it. With the World Cup taking place in the winter, fixture congestion will be a real issue, resulting in injuries and fatigue. Also, we don’t know where we will be later on in the season and wether we will have to prioritise other fixtures over the Champions League. It’s extremely difficult to predict as of now, so let’s just see what happens. Up the Spurs!
