Well that was enjoyable. We may not have had complete control throughout the whole game, but we largely kept them at bay, only registering one shot on target. Our defence has improved drastically, that’s a point in our game which I’ve been really impressed with recently, and we don’t have much to worry about down the other end either. We deserved to win that game, we had a good chunk of decent chances, in the second half especially and should have killed the game much earlier.

Once again, Richarlison changed the game when he was brought onto the pitch. His unmatched energy and desire to win the ball back, followed by an outrageous pinpoint cross to Harry Kane ultimately won us the game. Yet again proving what a key player he will be for us. I also thought Bissouma did his job well, and Perisic put in another really solid display.
I thought at times our midfield was being dominated, which has been a reoccurring theme this season, when teams play a midfield 3. The beauty of it is, we have a solution if it ever gets unmanageable. We can easily bring on Bissouma or Skippy (when he’s back) and then that creates a whole new dynamic.
Sonny wasn’t at his best again today, he’ll be back. Hopefully sooner rather than later, but he’s still absolutely instrumental to our team. Let’s not forget that. Him being off form is definitely part of the reason why we have not been at our best. But once again, now we have solutions. We used to be solely reliant on Harry and Sonny to be completely on it, and when they weren’t, it was most likely not going to result in a Spurs win. Now, we can manage one of them not being at their best, because we finally have depth! It would be nice to have another centre back, if Tanganga leaves, and another forward if Bryan Gil leaves.

We have claimed 10 from a possible 12 points, without really getting out of first gear. This isn’t Conte’s Spurs from the end of last season. We are better than this, and that’s a good thing. I think we probably do need one or two more signings to bolster the squad even further, in preparation for the restless fixtures which are set to come our way, but we are on the right path, and I am excited to see what this season holds. As always, Come On You Spurs!
